The UN Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (CERD) today announced that they are strongly against the eviction of a traveller community on a large site called 'Dale Farm' in the UK.
A spokesman told us "expecting gypsies to live up to the same legal standards as the rest of us is just not fair, in fact it is so unfair that we think it breaches their human rights. Everyone knows that breaking the law and ruining small rural communities is a vital part of the gypsy identity and to stand in the way of this vibrant ethnic expression amounts to persecution"
When it was later pointed out to them that these people are actually Irish decended travellers and not gypsies at all, the spokesman told us "they damn well smell like gypsies to me"...
