Trade Unions To Boycott UK Election

A representative of Unite today announced that their members, along with those of other British trade unions, would boycott the upcoming UK election.

"Everyone knows that British politicians no longer represent the people. They have become greedy and corrupt and the ordinary man in the street is sick of their beloved country being controlled by this small political elite. That is why we feel that the only way to save democracy in this country is for us to take control from these so called 'elected representatives', because everyone knows that we represent the ordinary people. That is why we are calling for a nationwide strike of all workers, in return for which we promise to increase the wages of anyone who joins in with us regardless of whether the so called 'treasury' has any money to pay for it, until we are given control of the government."

When asked whether this was, in fact, an attack on democracy by a small group of pseudo-communist revolutionaries the Unite spokesman replied:

"um, is that the time, well I must be off....".. (Editorial)
