FAQ

A List of Answers To Frequently Asked Questions About The Daily Satire website and how to use it

  1. Q. I just submitted a story, but I can't see it anywhere on the site. Where is it?
    A. It's in our to do list. All new submissions are moderated before being published on the site, so that we can keep out all the junk from spammers and the like. As soon as a moderator has taken a look at your submission it will be approved and published in the latest news section. This usually happens within 24 hours, almost alwasy happens within 48 hours, and we absolutely promise you that it won't take longer than 3 days.
  2. Q. Why doesn't it work when I try to vote on a story?
    A. You're probably not logged in. Only registered and logged in members can vote and comment on stories.
  3. Q. What's this log in with facebook thing? Why do have a choice between that and the normal log in? Which one do I use? I don't know what to do!
    A. Please remain calm and take a deep breath. Some people don't want to spend time filling in their username and email to create an account. If you have a facebook account and you are logged in to it, creating an account is that much quicker - just a couple of clicks and you're done. You can also then log in to The Daily Satire with one click as long as you are logged in to facebook, and if you want you can also choose to let us post your submissions to your facebook wall for you - but we won't post anything without your express permission (from the submission page) and we won't take your personal details to do anything nefarious. Ultimately you get the same experience whether you have logged in using facebook or using our own log in system, so the choice is yours.
  4. Q. How do I add videos and pictures to my submissions?
    A. Please see the instructions on the 'submission step one' page, when you click 'submit' from the main navigation.
  5. Q. How many votes does it take for a story to be promoted to the 'popular' section?
    A. Currently 2, but that could change at any time
  6. Q. Can I vote on comments, and what happens if I do?
    A. Yes, you can vote comments up or down. If a comment is voted up, it moves higher up, and if it is voted down, it moves down the page. If a comment gets enough down votes, it gets marked as spam and deleted.
  7. Q. Why is your FAQs page so short, and what if I have other questions?
    A. Because I'm lazy. Please contact editor at the daily satire dot com
