Ron Paul is America's most prominent libertarian, which I think must mean that he runs a big library somewhere.
Ron Paul is what they call a 'conviction politician', who subscribes to the 'reductio ad absurdum' school of politics. This means that rather than comprimising his principles, and making himself look absurd by flip-flopping or going against his core values for political expediency, Ron can always be relied on to stay true to the same set of libertarian principles which he applies to every issue, even to the point where they stop being idealistic and just become absurd.
Ron Paul has very strong support in the military, not, as some people have suggested, because he has always been against unnecessary wars, but because he plans to legalize narcotics, which have themselves been gaining in popularity amongst the US military in recent years.
An interesting fact about Ron Paul is that he is the only Republican party candidate ever to win support from a hippy in the whole history of the party.
