ESSEX – Scenes of violence have been avoided after Basildon council reminded Dale Farm occupants facing eviction that their homes have wheels on them.

Basildon Council leader Tony Ball pointed out to angry residents that the place they sleep has no foundations and could easily be moved to another location “at the drop of a hat.”

Travellers forced to actually start travelling

Travellers who have remained stationary for the last ten years are being forced to do what their name would suggest they are supposed to.

The travellers lost a last-ditch attempt to stave off eviction from the Dale Farm site after a Court of Appeal insisted that if they wanted to be referred to as travellers they would have to at least move around a little bit.

Dale Farm residents present list of laws they’re happy to abide by

Residents at the Dale Farm traveller site have insisted that their lawlessness has been exaggerated by Basildon Council, before listing some of laws they are perfectly happy to comply with.

A spokesperson for the travellers told reporters that there are actually quite a few laws his community abides by, and that this should be enough for everyone trying to get them to move.

Essex travellers demand £6million to bugger off.

Travellers living illegally on the Ugley Green caravan site in Essex have demanded £6million of taxpayers' money to leave.

The request was made by the gipsys' representative Paddy Pikey during a secret meeting with Ugley Green council leader Basil Don:
