The Lord’s Prayer, in Texas,
as Revealed to Governor Rick Perry

On Saturday August 6th, Texas governor Rick Perry – often mentioned as a Republican presidential candidate in 2012 – appeared at an evangelical gathering “A Call to Prayer for a Nation in Crisis.” In response to a call of “Governor, teach us to pray,” Mr. Perry looked upon high, basking in a divine spotlight, and said:

Our Father, who art in Houston,
hallowed be thy corporation,
your privileges will come
for your will is done
on earth by god’s voters seeking heaven.
Give us your time of day,
and overlook our tendencies toward racism,
while we cheer the death penalty for those who trespass against us
Lead away from the evils of big government,
and deliver us from higher taxes;
For thine is the hypocrisy, the wealth, and the plutocracy,
from one election to the next.
Somebody say – AMEN!
